Materials: #4 medium weight yarn, approx 100 yards

                   Polyfibre fill

                   I 5.5mm hook – or whatever size needed to meet gauge

                   E 3.5mm hook (for alien antennae only)

                   Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces

                   

Stitch Guide: sl: slip stitch

                        ch: chain

                        sk: skip

                        st: stitch

                        bb: back bump

                        yo: yarn over

                        mc: main colour

                        ac: accent colour

                        blo: back loop only

Start with a long tail to cinch the top closed

Row 18: ch 1, 25 sc, 1 sc incr, turn (27)


Row 19: ch 1, 1 sc incr, 26 sc, turn (28)



Row 20: the join: ch 1, 27 sc, 1 sc incr, hold the upper face section to your hook, and working

into the next st: 19 sc, (working the next two stitches through BOTH loops:

2 sc) x5, turn (56)



Repeat Section One starting at Row 2 x2



To finish: turn and ch 1, with the wrong side facing out, hold the two sides together so they are even, sl across x58 to close



Using the tail you started with, close the top:




Bunny Ears: (with 5.5mm, make two)


*** Make 2 individual pieces to be joined together to make one, 1 in ac, and 1 in mc, make the ac first, then follow the instructions for joining the two pieces together ***

Holding your two pieces together as pictured below, ensuring the “right” side is facing out on both pieces, work through them both to join:



*** on the next row it is important to remember that the amount of stitches down the side can vary, and so your final stitch count isn't that important, just ensure that you have enough stitches so it doesn't bunch or gather at the sides ***


Row 42: 5 sc across the top, 41 hdc down the first side, 3 hdc in the bottom, 41 hdc back up the

other side, sl to join (49)


Finish off with a long tail to attach to the balaclava



Face Markings: (with 5.5 mm, make two)


In ac


Ch 10


Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 3, 3 sc in the next ch, 3 sc in the next 3 ch,

1 sc + 1 sl in the last ch (12)


Finish off with a long tail to sew to the balaclava



Assembly:


Bunny Ears: position evenly on either side and attach as pictured


Cheek Marks: position where desired under the face opening, and attach
