a Modification for Breckin the Baphomet

Materials:
#4 medium weight yarn, approx 100 yards
Polyfibre fill
E 3.5mm hook
Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces
20 - 25mm eyes
Stitch Guide:
sl: slip stitch
ch: chain
sk: skip
st: stitch
bb: back bump
yo: yarn over
mc: main colour
ac: accent colour
blo: back loop only
flo: front loop only
sc: single crochet
sc incr: single crochet increase
sc dec: single crochet decrease
hdc: half double crochet
hdc incr: half double crochet increase
hdc dec: half double crochet decrease
dc: double crochet
Special Instructions: I suggest using the invisible dec wherever a dec is called for
Gauge is not important with this item, changing the hook or yarn size will simply change the size of the finished piece, just make sure you use the appropriate size hook for your yarn
You MUST have the original Breckin the Baphomet design to complete this mod

Included in this mod: gills collar, mushrooms x3, wings
Gills Collar:
Attach ac to the loop left from round 25
Round 1: 5 dc in each stitch, repeat around (100)
Finish off and weave in ends
Mushroom #1: (make one)
In mc
Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round
Round 1: 6 sc in circle (6)
Round 2: 1 sc incr, repeat around (12)
Round 3: flo: 1 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (18)
Round 4: 1 sc, repeat around, sl to join (18)
Finish off and weave in ends

Attach ac to loop left from round 3

Round 5 – 6: 1 sc, repeat around (12)
Round 7: 2 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (9)
Round 8 – 9: 1 sc, repeat around, join last round with a sl (9)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the head
Cut a piece of ac approx 7” long to make the white marks on the mushroom cap



Mushroom #2: (make one)
In mc
Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round
Round 1: 6 sc in circle (6)
Round 2: 2 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (8)
Round 3: 1 sc, repeat around (8)
Round 4: 3 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (10)
Round 5: 1 sc, repeat around (10)
Round 6: flo: 1 dc, 1 dc incr, repeat around (15)
Round 7: 2 dc, 1 dc incr, repeat around, join with a sl (20)
Finish off and weave in ends

Attach ac to loop left from round 6

Round 8 – 12: 1 sc, repeat around, join last round with a sl (10)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the head
Cut a piece of ac approx 7” long to make the white marks on the mushroom cap


Mushroom #3: (make 2-4)
In ac
Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round
Round 1: 6 sc in circle (6)
Round 3: 2 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (8)
Round 4: 1 sc, repeat around, join with a sl (8)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the head

Wings:
In ac
Ch 6
Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 2, 2 sl, turn (5)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sl, 2 sc, 4 sc in the next st, turn and work down the other side of the ch 6: 3 sc,1 sl, ch 3, turn (12)
Row 3: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 1, 4 sc, 2 sc incr, 3 sc, 1 sl, ch 3, turn (14)
Row 4: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 1, 5 sc, 2 sc incr, 3 sc, 1 sl, ch 3, turn (15)
Row 5: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 1, 8 sc, 1 sl (9)
Finish the first wing off and weave in ends, but do not finish off the second, instead carry on to the next set of instructions to attach:
Row 6: hold both pieces together at the round part where your working stitch is and sc x5
through both to attach, finish with a sl (6)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the back

Assembly:
Mushrooms: position on the head between the horns where you like and attach
Wings: position on the back just below the collar so they are centred, and attach
