Materials: #4 worsted weight yarn, approx 230 yards

                   I / 5.5mm hook

Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces

                   pom pom/pom pom maker

Stitch Guide: sl: slip stitch

                        ch: chain

                        hdc: half double crochet

hdc dec: half double crochet decrease

hdc 3rd loop: half double crochet in the third loop

                        fpdc: front post double crochet

fphdc: front post half double crochet

                        blo: back loop only

                        dec: decrease

Special Instructions: hdc 3rd loop: like a regular hdc, but in the back 3rd loop instead (pictures below from a different pattern, but the same stitch) in this pattern you will decrease the specialty front post and hdc in the 3rd loop stitches, you do these stitches as normal, just two together to decrease there are no repeated patterns in this hat, so if you need to make it smaller or larger, just change the size of the brim, and do as many hdc around as you want if you want the hat to be a different size around, with more stitches, the decrease rounds are done by 10, so you would need to make sure that the amount of stitches added is increased by that amount, or your decrease rounds won't work on the decrease rounds, the stitches used are the hdc 3rd loop and hdc 3rd loop decrease, if you find this is too bulky, or heavy, you can use regular hdc to decrease instead, and do hdc and hdc dec in place of the 3rd loops
