Materials: #4 medium weight yarn, approx 100 yards

                   E 3.5mm hook

                   Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces

                   

Stitch Guide: sl: slip stitch

                        ch: chain

                        sk: skip

                        st: stitch

                        bb: back bump

                        yo: yarn over

                        mc: main colour

                        ac: accent colour

                        blo: back loop only

                        flo: front loop only

                        sc: single crochet

                        sc incr: single crochet increase

                        sc dec: single crochet decrease

                        

                                                

Special Instructions: I suggest using the invisible dec wherever a dec is called for

Gauge is not important with this item, changing the hook or yarn size will simply change the size of the finished piece, just make sure you use the appropriate size hook for your yarn

Antennae: (make two)


*** Make 2 individual pieces to be joined together to make one, then follow the instructions for joining the two pieces together ***


Ch 2


Row 1: 1 sc incr, in the 2nd ch from the hook, turn (2)


Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc incr, turn (4)


Row 3: ch 1, 1 sc, 1 sc incr, 2 sc, turn (5)


Row 4: ch 1, 1 sc, 1 sc incr, 3 sc, turn (6)


Row 5 – 7: ch 1, 6 sc, turn (6)


Row 8: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 2 sc, 1 sc dec, turn (4)


Row 9: ch 1, 2 sc dec (2)


Finish off the first piece, but not the second, instead continue on to the next set of instructions:


Before joining the two pieces, cut a length of yarn approx 10-12”, (in ac of choice for details), using your needle make the details as pictured below, weave in ends and continue on to the next set of instructions to join:


           

Holding your two pieces together as pictured below, and continuing on with your second piece, ensuring the “right” side is facing out on both pieces, work through them both to join:



Round 10: 9 sc up the first side, 2 sc in the tip, 9 sc down the second side, 2 sc along the bottom, finish with a sl (22)


Finish off with a long tail to sew to the head



Assembly:


Position as pictured below and attach:
