Materials: #4 medium weight yarn, approx 20 yards
E 3.5mm hook
Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces
Stitch Guide: sl: slip stitch
ch: chain
sk: skip
st: stitch
bb: back bump
yo: yarn over
mc: main colour
ac: accent colour
blo: back loop only
flo: front loop only
sc: single crochet
sc incr: single crochet increase
sc dec: single crochet decrease
Special Instructions: I suggest using the invisible dec wherever a dec is called for
Gauge is not important with this item, changing the hook or yarn size will simply change the size of the finished piece, just make sure you use the appropriate size hook for your yarn

Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 7, 3 sl, turn (11)
All rows going forward done in blo
Row 2: ch 1, 3 sl, 4 sc, turn (7)
Row 3: ch 5, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 3, 4 sc, 3 sl, turn (11)
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: repeat row 3
Row 6: repeat row 2
Row 7: repeat row 3
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the hat
Assembly:
Fins: place two on either side evenly, and one in the middle turned the opposite way, as pictured below, and attach
