Materials: 

#4 medium weight yarn, approx yards

G/4 mm hook

Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces

                   

                                     

Stitch Guide: 

sl: slip stitch

ch: chain

sk: skip

st: stitch

bb: back bump

yo: yarn over

mc: main colour

ac: accent colour

blo: back loop only

flo: front loop only

sc: single crochet

sc incr: single crochet increase

hdc: half double crochet

hdc incr: half double crochet increase

dc: double crochet

dc incr: double crochet increase

tc: triple crochet

tc incr: triple crochet increase


Special Instructions: I suggest using the invisible dec wherever a dec is called for

Gauge is not important with this item, changing the hook or yarn size will simply change the size of the finished piece, just make sure you use the appropriate size hook for your yarn

Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round

Round 1: In mc: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc – pull your loop loose
         In ac: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc – pull your loop loose (10)



Round 2: Pick up mc: 5 dc incr – pull your loop loose
         Pick up ac: 5 dc incr – pull your loop loose (20)



Round 3: Pick up mc: (1 dc incr, 1 dc) x5 – pull your loop loose
         Pick up ac: (1 dc incr, 1 dc) x5 – pull your loop loose (30)


Round 4: Pick up mc: 1 dc incr, 1 dc, (1 dc incr, 2 dc) x4, 1 dc incr – pull your loop loose
Pick up ac: 1 dc incr, 1 dc, (1 dc incr, 2 dc) x4, 1 dc incr – pull your loop loose (42)


Round 5: Pick up mc: (2 dc, 1 dc incr) x2, (3 dc, 1 dc incr) x3, 3 dc – pull your loop loose
Pick up ac: (2 dc, 1 dc incr) x2, (3 dc, 1 dc incr) x3, 3 dc – pull your loop loose (52)


Round 6: Pick up mc: 1 dc incr, 3 dc, dc + hdc, 2 hdc, 2 sc incr, 1 sc – pull your loop loose
Pick up ac: 1 dc incr, 3 dc, dc + hdc, 2 hdc, 2 sc incr, 1 sc, 1 sl, finish off ac only (28)


Round 7: Pick up mc: (2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tc, 1 tc incr + ch 2 + 1 tc incr, 1 tc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc) x4, sl to join (72)


Round 8: ch 1, 7 hdc, 1 hdc incr + ch 2 + 1 hdc incr in the ch 2 sp, (18 hdc,  1 hdc incr + ch 2 + 1 hdc incr in the ch 2 sp) x3, 11 hdc, sl to join (80)

Finish off and weave in ends
