E 3.5mm hook for weight 4
B 2.25 mm hook for nose only for weight 4
K 6.5mm hook for weight 6
G 4mm hook for nose only for weight 6
Needle for sewing in ends and attaching pieces
18 – 23mm safety eyes for weight 4
25 – 30mm safety eyes for weight 6

sc: single crochet
sc incr: single crochet increase
sc dec: single crochet decrease

Special Instructions: I suggest using the invisible dec wherever a dec is called for.
Gauge is not important with this item, changing the hook or yarn size will simply change the size of the finished piece, just make sure you use the appropriate size hook for your yarn
picot stitch: ch 3, 1 sc in the 3rd ch from the hook

weight 4: 3.5mm hook weight 6: 6.5mm hook

Body: (for weight 4)
In mc
Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round
Round 1: 6 sc in the circle (6)
Round 2: 1 sc incr, repeat around (12)
Round 3: 1 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (18)
Round 4: 2 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (24)
Round 5: 3 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (30)
Round 6: 4 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (36)
Round 7: 5 sc, 1 sc incr, repeat around (42)
Round 8: 12 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (39)
Round 9 – 11: 1 sc, repeat around (39)
Insert eyes between rounds 4/5, closer to the top of the project with approx 4/5 st showing between, as pictured below:

Stuff as you go
Round 12 – 20: 1 sc, repeat around (39)
Round 21: 11 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (36)
Round 22: 1 sc dec, repeat around (18)
Round 23: 1 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (12)

Finish off and weave in ends

Stuff as you go
Round 11 – 16: 1 sc, repeat around (39)
Round 17: 11 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (36)
Round 18: 1 sc dec, repeat around (18)
Round 19: 1 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat around (12)

Finish off and weave in ends

Legs: (make four)
In mc
Start with a magic circle, or ch 3 with a sl to join, however you feel comfortable starting on the round
Round 1: 6 sc in the circle (6)
Round 2: 1 sc incr, repeat around (12)
Round 3: 1 sc, repeat around, finish with a sl (12)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the body

Ears: (make two)
The ears done with surface crochet, meaning you will be crocheting across the surface of the cat.
Attach mc behind and just to the side of the eyes, ensuring that they are evenly placed behind each eye as pictured below:
*** to mirror the ears so they match, attach to the same side of the eye for both ears, eg: attach and work from the middle for both ears, or attach and work from the outside for both ears ***

Row 1: 5 sc, turn (5)
Row 2: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 hdc + 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc + 1 hdc in the next st, 1 sc dec (7)
Finish off and weave in ends


Nose: (medium: 2.25mm hook, super bulky: 4mm hook)
In ac
Ch 2
Row 1: 1 sc incr in the 2nd ch from the hook, turn (2)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc incr (4)
Finish off with a long tail to sew to the front

Tail:
Attach mc to the spot that looks most natural, as pictured below:

Ch 11
Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 9, sl back in the st you attach your yarn (10)
Finish off and weave in ends

Assembly:
Legs: evenly place on the bottom and attach – lightly stuff before doing so if desired, I did not stuff mine
Nose: attach to the centre of the face
